Jensen is a Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), specializing in human pain perception, placebo effects, and chronic pain. She leads an interdisciplinary research group focusing on brain pathways involved in the generation and regulation of pain in humans using non-invasive brain imaging. After completing her PhD, she conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, where she later became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry before establishing her lab at the Karolinska in 2014. In 2022, she was a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford in the UK. Jensen is currently the chair of Karolinska Institutet’s translational Pain Network.
